The Monarch Fire Protection District is collecting donations of pet food to be distributed in tornado-ravaged Joplin, Mo. Towels, newspapers and monetary donations of cash or check also will be accepted (checks can be made payable to the Humane Society of Missouri or the American Red Cross).
Firefighters will collect the pet food and monetary donations from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2011. Donations will be accepted at the following locations:
