The Paper Kite, one of the butterflies at the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House, conjures images of snowflakes amidst the greenery of the indoor tropical conservatory. Throughout December, the number of Paper Kites at the Butterfly House will increase from the usual 200 to more than 1,000! Enjoy the flurry of these large butterflies while walking through the conservatory, which includes dozens of white orchids.
Children can also enjoy butterfly and winter-themed crafts, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 3, 10 and 17.
