Chesterfield Preps Area's Largest Fourth of July Fireworks Show

According to the city's parks and recreation director, it's the largest Fourth of July fireworks display in the St. Louis area with a budget of $60,000.

Want to see the "biggest and best fireworks show in the metro area?" That's how the City of Chesterfield is billing its 8th Annual 4th of July Fireworks display.

The claim is backed up by some solid numbers. Chesterfield has budgeted $60,000 for the show this year, up from $50,000 last year, according to a report in the St. Louis Business Journal that noted fireworks spending has increased overall.

The celebration is presented by the City of Chesterfield and sponsored in part by the Chesterfield Mall. The main viewing area will be on the parking lot at Chesterfield Mall.

Kid Zone, sponsored by Commerce Bank, will begin at 6:30 p.m., featuring clowns, a stilt walker, midway games and inflatables for kids of all ages.

The Jim Butler Kia Main Stage will feature "FatPocket", free concert from 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and then fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Food Trucks will be on site and residents are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. Glass bottles are prohibited.
