Outdoor Jazz Fest Brings Top Names
The inaugural St. Louis Post-Dispatch Chesterfield Jazz Festival takes place outside in the stylish, new Chesterfield Amphitheater located in West County's lush Central Park on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 2-10 p.m. The event features five time Grammy nominated pianist David Benoit and #1 Billboard saxophonist Paul Taylor, along with Bach to the Future featuring the Silverman brothers, the St. Louis Jazz All-Stars in a John Coltrane Tribute and Jeanne Trevor. What makes this jazz festival different is its outdoor setting, and unobstructed performance views. In between sets, jazz fans can enjoy nature trails around the lake, savor a bite to eat from multi-cultural foods and wash it down with refreshing with beverages like beer, wine or spirits. Family-oriented recreational activities include face painting, music lessons, and spectacular fireworks at the end of the night! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets if buying lawn seats ($20). No coolers, picnics, or glass will be allowed inside the amphitheater, however guests will receive in and out privileges. Children 12 and under are free with an adult. Tickets are on sale at http://metrotix.com/r.php?action=event&eventId=5688.
