From Chesterfield's Big Day, to My Great Day!

I am so proud to be part of the City of Chesterfield.  Saturday's amphitheater event was surreal.  From 7 a.m. though 10 p.m., thousands of residents and friends strolled around Central Park and enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery.  The park was simply bursting at its seams with strollers, bicycles and canine companions.  Kids climbing the rock wall, rolling in the plush sod, dancing in front of the amphitheater stage.  Young children exploring fire trucks, robots, and police cars, talking to Chesterfield's finest police and firemen. Car enthusiasts admiring the obvious toils of owners in customizing their wheels.

Entertainment ranging from tikes, to veteran professional performers.

Finally, and most importantly, Chesterfield expressed our appreciation to our veterans.

What I saw Saturday was a dream park!  I hope that the folks that discovered Central Park Saturday come back, over and over again.  The smiles, laughter, and bustle validate all of our work.

Please know that the community drives parks programming.  By all accounts, yesterday appeared to be a huge success.  But I hope that you come back all summer for our concerts, movies, and maybe just to take off your shoes and run in the grass.
