Chesterfield Crash Victim Goes Home, Mother-Teacher Still Hospitalized Unconscious
No charges filed in a head-on car crash from two weeks ago.
A Chesterfield teen hospitalized for nearly two weeks after a head-on car crash in the car his mother was driving went home Thursday to his grandmother's house. His mother remains hospitalized at
Jonathan Esrock, 16, is a sophomore at Whitfield School on Mason Road in Creve Coeur. He left Mercy with a broken leg and ribs in a wheelchair piloted by family members, according to CaringBridge website.
His mother, Janet Esrock, 50, has not regained consciousness since the Aug. 26 crash on Wild Horse Creek Road at the Riverdale intersection. She is a Whitfield School math teacher and girls hockey coach.

The Esrocks—mother and son — were riding home in a 1992 Infinity car about 10:40 p.m. after watching a football game. Family members said an oncoming car crossed into their traffic lane on Wild Horse Creek Road as they rounded a curve near home.
Firefighters responding to the crash worked to extricate the pair from the vehicle, officials said.

Chesterfield police said the driver of the other car was 53 years old, and that alcohol may have been a factor. The identity and condition of the Chevy Suburban driver has not been made public.
St. Louis County prosecutors have the investigation in hand, but it was not known whether or when charges would be filed in the crash.
Janet Esrock also has two college-age children—Joe and Becky, and husband Chuck, according to CaringBridge website.
