Chesterfield Mall Shoplifter Facing Possible Charges for Heroin Possession

Police are waiting for lab results to confirm the identity of the substance found on the suspect.

Police are investigating possible charges for heroin possession for a shoplifter who took items from a department store in Chesterfield Mall.

Mall security caught the suspect, described as a 30-year-old female, after she attempted to conceal clothing and then take it without paying from Dillards April 4.

Chesterfield Police Officer Michael Ryffel said she could be charged with possession of a controlled substance in addition to a stealing misdemeanor.

“The substance that we believe to be heroin, pending testing, was found on her person during booking,” he said.
