Man Drags Girlfriend By Hair, Punches Her in Face, Police Say

Chesterfield Police said Mark S. Shepard has been charged with domestic assault 11 times since 2007. He pleaded guilty to one charge in 2008.

A Chesterfield man has been charged with second-degree domestic assault after police said he dragged his girlfriend by the hair and hit her in the face Thursday.

Chesterfield Police said it’s not the man’s first act of domestic violence.

Police say Mark S. Shepard, 38, of the 14200 block of Rainy Lake Drive in Chesterfield, has been charged with domestic assault 11 times since 2007. He pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree domestic assault in 2008.

Chesterfield Police said a witness saw the attack at the couple’s home on Thursday. Shepard’s girlfriend said she didn’t want to prosecute because Shepard would kill her, according to a police report.
