Chesterfield Man Seeks Police Report After Snowman Knocked Over

The individual told police the act of vandalism caused damage to the clothing that had been on placed on the snowman.

The brief snowfall that dusted the area last week was just enough to cause some trouble in a Chesterfield neighborhood.

On Jan. 5, a homeowner in the 1600 block of Benton Taylor Drive called police to report that a snowman in his front yard had been knocked over and said the act of vandalism had caused damage to the clothing draped on the wintertime sculpture.

Officer Mike Ryffel said police are trained to always take reports on the side of caution. In this instance, he said the clothes on the snowman were considered valuable by the victim. The incident was listed in the Chesterfield Police blotter as “damage to property.”
