Chesterfield Police Teach 'Stranger Danger' to Kiddos

Nationally-known 'Safety Town' programs show preschool age kids about safety.

Consider it two weeks of summer camp for your youngster, in miniature Safety Town, for $10.

Safety Town is a nationally recognized pre-school safety program teaching 4-, 5- and 6-year-olds about safety, including bicycle safety, water safety, school bus safety and stranger danger.

The program, hosted by the includes classroom and outdoor hands-on activities in the miniature Safety Town city. Sessions are half-day long, over two weeks.

The program is in cooperation with the Chesterfield Rotary, the Chesterfield Kiwanis and the .

Safety Town staff includes commissioned police officers, and teen counselors from area middle and senior high schools.

Registration preference is given to children who have not taken the course previously.

The cost is $10 per child and includes a Safety Town T-shirt, bicycle helmet andΒ  Safety Town coloring book.

  • Session 3: June 18-29 (10am-Noon)

  • Session 5: July 9-20 (10am-Noon)
