Construction Site Theft Targets Door Frames, Metal Fixtures

Chesterfield police said an unknown individual took the materials from the building being renovated across from the post office on Swingley Ridge Road.

An overnight theft from a construction site in Chesterfield recently resulted in the loss of more than $500 in building materials.

Police said the target was the new Sterling Bank building on Swingley Ridge Road across from the Chesterfield Post office. The structure is in the process of being renovated.

Sometime over night between June 1 and June 3, the thief or thieves snuck into the construction site and made off with a variety of items, including door frames and aluminum fixtures, police said.

Construction sites can be popular targets for prowling thieves, due to the high re-sale value of the items. At this time, police said they have not identified any suspects in the case. Β
