Cops Collar Suspected Thief In Chesterfield

A St. Louis resident is in custody.

A 23-year-old man was nabbed by police Thursday on a warrant in connection with the attempted burglary of a house in the 1700 block of Wilson Road.

Damon Bean, a St. Louis resident, was charged with one count of burglary in the first degree, Chesterfield police said. Bean is being held at the St. Louis County Intake Facility.

No bail was set for Bean by late Thursday, police said.

Chesterfield police said the suspect broke a window of a home and prepared to climb in.

The homeowner interrupted the suspect at that point. The suspect fled.

A short time later in a car stop, Chesterfield police said they apprehended Bean, with the help of Ellisville and St. Louis County police.
