Any possible manslaughter charges pending in the fatal crash were essentially waiting in a warrant application queue with the St. Louis County's prosecuting attorney's office, Chesterfield police said Monday.

Toxicology tests and other elements of the investigation required additional time, police said.

Steven Hammer, 32, also from Oakland, CA was a passenger in the SUV. Both Hammer and Kawamura were treated at area hospitals and released shortly after the February 21 crash.

Pfeiffer lived in South County, and was a 2011 St. John Vianney High School graduate. He was slated to play baseball on the university team this year.
