Faked Returns Lead to Theft Charges for Macy's Employee

Chesterfield Police are charging the 19-year-old female suspect with larceny.

A Macy's department store employee is facing theft charges after Chesterfield police allege she used fake returns to get hundreds of dollars in gift cards.

The fraud occurred over the course of several days spanning Feb.14-23, in which a 19-year-old female employee of the Chesterfield Mall retailer rang up fake returns. Police said she then used bogus returns to authorize gift cards for herself.

The amount of money stolen exceeded $500, according to the police department’s weekly incident report.
