Firearm, iPad Stolen from Locked Vehicle in Chesterfield

An unknown suspect smash in a window and then grabbed the tablet and a 9mm pistol, which police said had been hidden from view.

Tablets and cell phones are common targets for car thieves, but an individual who broke into a vehicle in Chesterfield earlier this week also nabbed a firearm.

Police said the incident occurred late on the afternoon of Feb. 18 when an unknown suspect smashed in the window of a vehicle parked in the 16000 block of N. Outer 40 Road and grabbed a 9mm pistol and an iPad.

The items weren’t immediately visible from outside the car, according to police, who described the gun as being hidden inside the locked vehicle.
