Firearms, Golf Clubs Stolen from Chesterfield Garages

In each case, the garage doors are believed to have been left open, allowing the burglars to easily sneak in and out.

Open garage doors in Chesterfield neighborhoods continue to be tempting targets for criminals in the area looking to make a . 

The latest two incidents were reported last week. The first involved a home in the 2200 block of Stoneridge Terrace Court when police said a burglar rifled through an unlocked car before heading into the garage. 

Police believe the door had been left open. A wallet was taken from the vehicle and golf clubs grabbed from the garage. The thefts occurred late at night on Aug. 5 while the residents were home, police said. 

The second burglary may have occurred any time in a period of months spanning March-August of this year when the thief sneaked in and grabbed two antique, long-barrel firearms. 

Police said they currently have no suspects in either case.
