It Must Have Been the Heat: Thieves, Trespassers and Vandals Strike Chesterfield Pools

Chesterfield Police report six recent incidents of criminal activity around swimming pools.

The recent heat wave must have driven local misfits to strike where it’s cool—the backyard swimming pool. A crime report from the listed a half dozen crimes in or around private pools.

Three homes within a mile of each other all reported overnight vandalism on the night of June 28. The homes, located on the block of 1100 Nooning Tree Drive, the block of 14000 Grantley Drive and the block of 400 Argus Manor Court all had patio furniture and decorations tossed into their backyard pools by persons unknown.

Two incidences happened at subdivision pools. At Hunter’s Glen Apartments teens from 16 to 18 years old, two boys and two girls, were caught trespassing in the complex’s pool at 4:00 a.m. on July 3. The afterhours pool party included alcohol.

On the 1200 block of Wildhorse Parkway an unknown subject damaged a table and bathroom door at a subdivision pool on July 6.

An iPhone, listed as over $500, was stolen poolside in the 1600 block of Baxter Crossing Lane. A man had left the phone unattended on July 7.
