Monarch Fire Collecting Donations for Pets in Joplin

Pet food can be dropped off at three fire houses Sunday.

firefighters will collect donations for pets in need in Joplin, MO after a tornado tore through the city.

Donations of pet food, towels, newspapers or money will be accepted at three Monarch fire houses in Chesterfield:

Checks can be made payable to the Humane Society of Missouri or the American Red Cross. Cash will also be accepted.

According to a news release, Monarch firefighter Chris Overy and his wife Karin and spearheading the donation campaign. “We have horses and we wanted to do whatever we could to help out,” Chris Overy said in the release. “We thought that giving assistance for people’s pets would be a great idea.” 

The donations will be delivered to Joplin next week.
