Out for a Walk? Don't Forget to Lock Your Car

A thief grabbed a wallet and a taser from a women's unlocked vehicle while she was on the Monarch Levee Trail in Chesterfield last month.

While most thefts from cars after take place overnight, they can also occur in short windows of time in broad daylight.

That was the case for a woman who had a wallet and a taser stolen from her vehicle in Chesterfield Valley June 26.

Chesterfield Police reported that she had left her car unlocked while she was out on a walk on the Monarch Levee Trail. The thief took advantage of her brief absence to grab the possessions sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
