Police Investigate Rash of Car Break-Ins at Chesterfield Athletic Complex

Eight cars were entered while parked at the ball fields.

Seven cars had windows smashed and valuables inside stolen, while an eighth was unlocked, during a rash of break-ins at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex on Aug. 27, according to police.

Officer Mike Ryffel, spokesman for the Chesterfield Police Department, said the department has some leads in the case, but no arrests at this point.

The owners of the cars lost laptops, loose change and clothing were taken, police said.

"This is a good example for everyone to either hide their valuables in their vehicle or don’t leave anything inside," Ryffel said. "All the vehicles had their valuables in plain view."
