Police: Sam's Cashier Helped Family Member Steal Items

An employee at Sam’s Club in Chesterfield is being investigated for theft by police after she helped a family member avoid paying for groceries and other items.

Police did immediately release the identity of the suspect, but described her as a 23-year-old female and said the incident that now has her facing possible larceny charges occurred the morning of June 14.

According to police, the employee took advantage of her position as a cashier. As her family member went through the checkout lane, she only scanned a portion of the total items being purchased.
