The Chesterfield Police Department will be holding checkpoints to ensure drivers are not intoxicated in May.
Along with the St. Louis County Police Department, police officers will be checking drivers within the city limits of Chesterfield in an effort to reduce driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. A news release from the Chesterfield Polce Department states that the checkpoints will only minimally inconvenience drivers.Β
Officers conducting the checkpoints have had additional training to recognize the signs of drunk driving or driving while under the influence of illegal drugs. They will also issue tickets for seat belt or other violations they see, the news release states.
