Quick Thief Steals More than $500 from Chesterfield Dillards

An unknown suspect was able to elude mall security after grabbing handfuls of clothes and fleeing the department store.

A thief with quick hands and fast feet nabbed more than $500 in clothes from a department store in Chesterfield Mall Tuesday.

Police said that an unknown suspect entered Dillards at around 3:22 p.m., grabbed handfuls of high-value clothing and then fled the store.

Such a “grab and run” is often able to elude mall security by having a getaway car parked outside the entrance, according to Chesterfield Police Officer Mike Ryffel.
