Teenager Who Held Up BP Gas Station At Gunpoint Not a Chesterfield Resident, Police Say

Chesterfield Police has released more details of an incident in which a .

Chesterfield Police Capt. Steven Lewis told Chesterfield Patch that, after receiving a 911 call from the gas station, police identified the teenager, who was not a Chesterfield resident. The teenager was turned-in to authorities by his father after police notified him of the incident.

Lewis said Police could not release his name or where the teenager attended school because he is a juvenile.

Lewis, however, confirmed that the teenager is detained and in the juvenile system.

The weapon used in the incident was recovered, Lewis said, and there is no investigation against the father.

Lewis urged parents to contact police if they know their children are involved in illegal activity.

“Contact the police and advise us of the activity and their concerns,” Lewis said. “They may contact their local police department via the non-emergency number.”
