Three Chesterfield Teens Killed in Wildwood Accident

Authorities say a vehicle carrying four people in their teens or early 20s ran off the road late last night, hit the deck of a house and went into the woods.

Friday afternoon, St. Louis County police released the following details, including the names of the victims, in connection to a fatal crash that killed three teenagers in Wildwood late Thursday night.

Police said four people were in the car at the time of the accident and three of those people died as a result of the crash.

The accident killed the driver, Christopher Lenzen, 18, and both back seat passengers, Kathleen Oliver, 17, and Lauren Oliver, 18, according to the news release. Police said all three were from Chesterfield.

Front seat passenger Olivia Dames, 18, of Eureka, suffered non life threatening injuries.

On 8/15/2013 at approximately 9:40pm, officers of the St. Louis County Police Department responded to a single car accident in the 18000 block of Homestead Manor Drive in Wildwood.  Investigation revealed the vehicle, a 2013 Infinity G37S convertible, was traveling southbound on Homestead Manor Drive when it left the roadway, struck the side of a residence and a backyard deck before coming to rest in a wooded area.

Re-constructionists are currently conducting their investigation into the cause and contributing factors of the accident.  That information will be provided when available.

A single-vehicle accident late Thursday night in Wildwood killed three teenagers from the Rockwood School District and caused minor injuries for a fourth. 

While school officials have confirmed the victims are teenagers who are either current students or recent graduates of the Rockwood School District, they have asked the names be withheld, pending official notification of the families.


Reports from officials in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and KSDK describe the victims as in their late teens or early twenties. The accident occurred between 9:45-10 p.m. in the 1800 block of Homestead Manor Drive. 

According to authorities, a convertible carrying the four young people ran off the road, struck the deck of a house and then went into the woods, were it hit a tree. 

Two people died at the scene while a third died as the person was being prepared to be airlifted to the hospital. 

No details were immediately available on what caused the accident and whether or not the victims were wearing seatbelts.
