Crowds Turn Out For U.S. Senate Republican Primary Debate

Some 1,100 people were at Lindenwood University Monday night. See the photos.

Voters, both decided and undecided in the Republican primary race for the U.S. Senate nomination, swarmed Monday night to hear Todd Akin, Sarah Steelman and John Brunner debate the issues.

One of the three candidates who win the August Republican primary election would run againstΒ Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskillΒ in November.

The debate, hosted by FM NewsTalk 97.1, brought out Republicans from across the St. Louis area. Lindenwood organizers said 1,100 people came out to hear the candidates speak.
