Chesterfield Monarch Levee Trail Closing at Boone Bridge Starting March 11

The closure only applies to the portion of the trail adjacent to and underneath I-64.

The following information was provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The Monarch Levee Trail in Chesterfield Valley will be closed under the I-64 Daniel Boone Missouri River Bridge beginning Monday, March 11 until construction on the bridge is complete in late 2015.

The trail, which runs the length of Chesterfield Valley, will be open except for the piece adjacent to and underneath I-64, approximately 1,000 feet either side of the bridge.

The trail must be closed for safety reasons due to the construction work of the bridge. Once the trail closes on March 11, trail users will see warning signs at the trail parking lots and on the trail itself.

Construction of the new I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge began in January 2013. The new eastbound bridge will be opened to traffic in late 2014. In 2015, the current eastbound bridge will be rehabilitated. By the end of 2015, westbound I-64 traffic will be moved to this bridge and the current 1935 westbound bridge will be removed.
