Chesterfield Valley Levee Under Construction at RR Tracks

How long does this project take?

Chesterfield's own version of the levee along Missouri River tributaries in the "Valley" has been under construction as part of the recovery from massive flooding nearly two decades ago, in 1993.

Last month, work was visible at the intersection of Long Road and the railroad tracks in Chesterfield, near the Monarch-Chesterfield Levee Trail and the little-used, 33-acre Railroad Park, 17410 Edison Ave.

It was unclear whether the ongoing work was both for the trail and part of the levee system. Expect an update soon.
