City Council Preview: First Meeting for New Slate of Council Members, Mayor

This preview takes a look at some of the item's the Chesterfield City Council will discuss at its 7 p.m. meeting.

The Chesterfield City Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Chesterfield City Hall at 690 W. Chesterfield Parkway. Here's a preview of some the items on the council's agenda, which can be viewed here.

  • The meeting will mark the swearing-in of a new slate of council members and a new mayor. Former councilman Bob Nation will be installed as mayor while Nancy Greenwood will be sworn in as council member for Ward I, Derek Grier for Ward II, Dan Hurt for Ward III and Bruce DeGroot for Ward IV. 
  • City Administrator Michael Herring will giave a report on a resolution concerning the appointment of a new city clerk. The previous City Clerk, Judy Naggier, retired recently after a 17-year career with the city.  
  • The council will vote on final approval for the construction of a on Chesterfield Airport Road in the Chesterfield Valley. The project had met initial resistance from other convenience store owners in the Valley who were worried about how it would impact their business.
