Election Day Rundown: What to Know So You Can Vote

Chesterfield voters will choose a new mayor and decide on city council seats. There's several other races on the ballot, too.

Did you head into work before heading to the polls? There's still time to vote today. Here's a rundown of what you need to know before casting your ballot in Chesterfield.

Where do I vote?
You can enter your address and birthday at the Missouri Secretary of State's website to find your polling location. The website provides a map and a sample ballot.

When are polls open?
Polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday. If you are in line at 7 p.m., you have the right to vote.

What do I need to vote?
 
You'll need a form of ID in order to cast your vote. The following are acceptable forms of ID:

  • a driver's license
  • an ID card from a state agency, such as a non-drivers ID
  • a passport or a Social Security, Medicaid or Medicare card
  • a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document with your name and address
  • an ID card from a higher education institution

What's on the ballot?
Several muncipal races, including a race for Chesterfield's next mayor, are on the ballot. Voters will also choose both Rockwood and Parkway school board members, a member of the Monarch Fire Protection District Board of Directors, and the St. Louis County assessor. To read about the candidates, .
