Questions:

What do you think are the biggest issues addressing the city of Chesterfield? As a member of the council, how would you address them?

The largest issues facing the city are traffic mitigation and the St Louis county sales tax pool, and as a member of council, I will continue to work with members of council, the mayor, and members of the legislature to the benefit of the residents.

Although I am, in general, satisfied with the way our city government operates, there is always room for improvement, particularly when it comes to communicating with the people who live and work in our city.

What role do you think city government should play in promoting economic growth?

City government should work with business to promote appropriate development while always putting the needs of the residents first.  We are elected to protect their interest and provide high levels of quality services while promoting responsible growth

When considering the city's budget, what programs do you think should be prioritized? How would you decide what should be cut, if such a move was needed?

Our city government’s first priorities are providing community-based police protection, and road and infrastructure maintenance.  During the economic downturn, our priorities were to right-size our city government, living within our means without new taxes, while continuing to provide superior levels of service, which are the guidelines I would use again should our city budget need addressing.

What contributions have you made to the community and how do you see yourself using those experiences if elected?

Since being elected to the city council in 2009, I have chaired both the Finance committee and Planning and Public Works.  Between 2001 and 2009, I was a member of the Parks and Police boards.  I will continue to use a fiscally conservative approach to city government while delivering quality services, and continue to put the residents needs first.

What's your favorite place to eat in Chesterfield?
