Federal Money to Improve Brookhaven Sidewalks

The City of Chesterfield will spend a $41,000 Community Development Block Grant to sidewalk curb ramps in eight locations.

The City of Chesterfield is putting the funds allocated through a federal Community Development Block Grant to add handicap accessible sidewalk ramps to eight locations in the Brookhaven subdivision.Β 

CDBG funds are dispersed yearly to cities across the country and can be used to fund affordable housing, anti-poverty programs or infrastructure improvements. In Chesterfield's case, the city received $41,000 and will be putting it toward sidewalk improvements.Β 

The city council reviewed bids for the work at a meeting Sept. 19. The eight areas to receive ramps are:

  • White Lane Drive at Brookhave Place
  • Brook Hil Drive at Brock Hill Manor Court
  • Brook Hill Drive at Schoettler Road
  • Brook Hill Drive at Sir Ryan Drive
  • White Lane Drive at Annasarra Court
  • White Lane Drive at Straub Hill Lane
  • White Lane Drive at White Lane Court
  • Brook HIll Drive/White Lane Drive at Straub Oaks Lane
