What's Going on at the Conway Bridge Near White Road?

Plus, we're checking on what's happening a little east of there under Ameren's power lines.

When we saw eight or 10 green-vested St. Louis County highway department workers clustered at the small bridge on Conway Road just west of White last week, we reached out to spokesman David Wrone.

"Our personnel were examining the bridge in anticipation of developing a repair plan for the structure. Nothing major, though! Routine patching of cracked (‘spawled”) concrete, etc.," he replied by email. "We don’t anticipate having to close the bridge."

We also note that there's a lot of work involving piping and some heavy machinery a little east of that location, under the high-power lines in Ameren's right-of-way. We've reached out to the contractor we noticed on the scene, SAK Construction in O'Fallon, MO, but have not yet received an answer.
