17 Chesterfield-Area Students Make National Merit Semifinals

A total of 22 Parkway students are in the running for a National Merit scholarship.

National Merit Scholarship Corporation released its list of semifinalists this week for scholarships to be awarded next spring.

The scholarships, granted to about 8,000 students total, are based on academic achievements of current high school seniors who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) as a junior. Student scores and applications are considered in the selection process.

Out of about 16,000 semifinalists nationwide, 17 were from Chesterfield-area schools: 12 from Central and five from West:
