Coach: Parkway Central Football Star Chooses College

Mizzou wanted him, but who gets him?

He isn't talking about it yet, but it appears Parkway Central Wide Receiver Brandon Sheperd has ended his college recruiting process.

His coach, Mark Goldenberg, told Patch that Sheperd apparently committed to Oklahoma State University Monday morning. Sheperd was in Stillwater over the weekend for a recruiting visit which included OSU's game Saturday against arch rival Oklahoma.

Sheperd, who had narrowed his choices to Oklahoma State and the University of Missouri, led the Colts with 21 touchdowns this season as Parkway Central High School won a district title.

Goldenberg said he learned Monday night of Sheperd's decision. Attempts to reach the senior for comment have been unsuccessful.

Recruits can only make verbal pledges, which are non-binding until they are eligible to sign a letter of intent starting February 1, 2012.

Interestingly, scouts from University of Missouri circling the football field at Parkway's last game told Patch they thought they would get Sheperd in their corner for next year.
