A Superintendent's Coffee hosted by Central Middle and Central High in the Central Middle School library. This session will provide parents the opportunity to hear more specifics concerning Parkway's current budget challenges, the district's recommendations for reducing expenditures, as well as possible implications for Central Middle and Central High.
On Jan. 11, the Parkway School Board of Education heard recommendations from district administrators for accomplishing necessary budget reductions. Although Parkway continues to be in strong financial shape, declining revenues and a forecast for minimal future growth call for the district to take proactive steps to reduce expenditures by 3 to 5 percent over the next two years. The board is expected to vote on the proposal in February.
