John illustrates the power of the human spirit through his personal story. As a nine-year-old boy, he was given less than one percent chance of survival. He endured months in the hospital, years in therapy, dozens of surgeries, and lost all of his fingers to amputation. Despite the odds, he overcame those challenges to become a college graduate; business owner; hospital chaplain; the Ambassador for Big Brothers, Big Sisters; the first inductee into the Energizer “Keep Going” Hall of Fame; an international speaker; and a husband and father. John has shared his message with over 450 organizations in 37 states and 4 countries.
