Marquette Speech and Debate Trivia Night

On Saturday, September 29, the Marquette High School Speech and Debate team invites those of all ages to
attend their annual trivia night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Admission is $15 per person at the door. The event will take place in the cafeteria of Marquette High School, and a
variety of raffle prizes will be available to those who attend, with hundreds of dollars in cash prizes awarded to the top three tables. Refreshments will be provided as well.

Trivia night is a great opportunity for friends and family to spend an evening relaxing and working together to
answer trivia while providing essential funds to the Marquette Speech and Debate team. The team is composed of about thirty students who spend their
weekends competing with students from teams across the state in debate and speaking events such as Lincoln Douglas debate, Policy debate, Extemporaneous
Speaking, and Original Oratory. Every tournament they attend locally requires bus transportation and entry fees. However, the team also attends tournaments
outside of the St. Louis area which require overnight hotel fees, entry fees, bus charges, and sometimes
airfare. Trivia Night is crucial for the team to raise the funds to attend as many tournaments as possible and to allow the maximum number of team members to
participate in each tournament.  Attendance at trivia night will allow the 2012-2013 Speech and Debate season to be a success. For more information, please contact
