New Principal Named at Shenandoah Valley Elementary

Carrie Luttrell, who has most recently worked in the Rockwood School District, will take over the post on July 1.

An administrator in the Rockwood School District will take the helm at Shenandoah Valley Elementary School this summer.

Carrie Luttrell, the executive director of curriculum, instruction and assessment for Rockwood, will be the principal of Shenandoah Valley effective July 1. Current princiapl Bruce Hunter will retired after 31 years in the Parkway School District.

According to a news release from the Parkway district, Luttrell began teaching as an elementary classroom teacher in Chilhowee R-IV and Knob Noster R-VIII school districts, which are both near Whiteman Air Force Base. She spent 14 years in the classroom before becoming the coordinator of curriculum and assessment in Knob Noster. She then became the director of curriculum and assessment in the Fort Osage R-I district, outside of Independence, MO before moving the the Rockwood district.
