Parkway Central Football Smoked Webster Groves In Playoffs

Parkway Central High School's amazin' Colts ran past Webster Groves' Statesmen 42-26 Monday night in a playoff varsity football game, Class 5.

That means Central moves on to play Hazelwood East on Saturday.

Central and Webster were evenly matched 9-1 going into the playoffs. However, Webster's loss had been to Central.

Central had lost to Kirkwood during regular season play and is 10-1. Webster is now 9-2.

Webster scored big in the first half, and went to the locker room with a 20-7 lead. But Central came roaring out to score two touchdowns within minutes of the second half.

Webster scored again late in the 3rd quarter, nearly tying the score.

But then Central scored twice more in the 4th quarter, and Webster couldn't catch up.
