Parkway Schools—No Class Friday, Rockwood District Has Classes Friday
Professional development is scheduled Friday in Parkway district. Monday is Labor Day holiday for both.
No classes are scheduled for Friday in , all grades. The district calendar described it as a "Professional Development" day. Neither are there classes Monday, Sept. 5.
Rockwood district schools, including Marquette High School and a handful of elementary schools located in Chesterfield, will have classes Friday, Sept. 2. No classes on Labor Day, Sept. 5.
Rockwood schools started a day later than Parkway, in August.

Monday is Labor Day, a traditional holiday, and typically treated as the end of summer because in this area, and outdoor swimming pools close—despite 100-degree-plus temperatures—not to re-open until Memorial Day, in May.
Students in both districts would be expected back to classes Tuesday morning.

Parkway Central still plays football Friday night at Seckman Senior High, in Imperial, in the Arnold area.
