Parkway West Math Teacher Finalist for Presidential Award

The following information was provided by the Parkway School District

Ruth Knop, a Parkway West High School mathematics teacher, has been selected as a state finalist for the 2013 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).  Knop is one of only four math teachers from Missouri state for the award.

The PAEMST is awarded annually to outstanding K-12 science and mathematics teachers from across the country.  The winners are selected by a panel of distinguished scientists, mathematicians and educators following the initial selection process done at the state level. Each year, the award alternates between educators teaching kindergarten through 6th grades and those teaching 7th through 12th grades.
