Rockwood School Board Incumbent Opts Out On Re-Election

No incumbents running for 7-member board. The following is from a district spokeswoman.

On Jan. 24, Geoff Rigabar withdrew his candidacy as a Rockwood Board of Education candidate.

Rigabar cited personal and professional responsibilities as factors in his decision not to seek election.

In November, Rigabar was selected by the Board to fill the position left open by Matthew Fitzpatrick, who resigned in October.  Rigabar, who took the oath of office at the Dec. 1 Board meeting, will serve on the Board until the April 2012 general election.

“I am enjoying my service on the Board.  I continue to learn, and I continue to be impressed with the great work taking place for students in this outstanding district,” Rigabar said, according to the district.
