We Got Game

Patch live-streams the first game for Parkway Central Friday and Patch editor gets in the broadcast booth for interview with experts.

Patch partnered with Prepcasts.com to live-streaming audio of Parkway Central's Colts beating Ladue's Rams 31-14 in the first football game of Parkway Central's official season.

If you missed it live, it's in the archives section of Prepcasts.com already.

Former St. John Vianney High School football coach Gene Gladstone provided commentary throughout the game for listeners and teamed up with experienced play-by-play Prepcasts.com announcer B.J. Schutte.

At halftime, Patch Editor Gregg Palermo stepped in for a streaming-live chat with Schutte. Palermo came to Patch a year ago from broadcast.

Gladstone coached 15 years at Vianney and before that at Lindbergh High School so he came well-prepared for the job. He had a few pre-game jitters for his inaugural live-stream gig Friday with Prepcasts.com but by halftime he was getting compliments from colleagues in the booth.

Prepcasts.com has been working the high school games online since owner Bob Ryan figured out there was a market for it.

"He was so far ahead on this streaming," Gladstone said Friday. "I was looking forward to free Friday nights since I retired (from coaching.) Then he asked me if I wanted to do this."

Patch will make the rounds covering area high school football games with Prepcasts.com and streaming them live. Here's the plan. Next up is the big MICDS game at Burroughs on September 10 at 2:30 p.m.

Streaming Audio: Enjoy The Action From Anywhere

An integral part of Patch's game plan is this partnership with the St. Louis region’s very own Prepcasts.com, and they will be providing live audio play-by-play and commentary of over 100 area football games in 2011. We certainly encourage you to check Prepcasts.com for all of your prep sports streaming needs.

If you miss the games—or simply want to relive the glory—you can find Patch coverage, including photos and video, on Patch.com

We also provide a link to the Prepcasts.com archive, where you’ll find the game’s audio in its entirety.

The live stream is a convenient way to follow high school football across metro St. Louis. If you've gone off to college or elsewhere, you can follow your alma mater on Patch and Prepcasts.com

Prepcasts also includes live scoreboard updates and breaking news.

Patch: Your Source For Community Sports

The history of St. Louis-area high school athletics has a deep, rich record that is virtually unparalleled in the Midwest.

Chesterfield Patch is devoted to covering local prep sports and its significance in our community.

Patch launched 24 websites in the St. Louis area late in 2010, so this year we are happy to be able to cover the entire 2011-12 high school sports season.
