Class One

Maplewood Richmond Heights – tied for 31st place with nine points. No wrestlers left competing.

Whitfield – In second place with 108 points.  Whitfield seems to have secured a second-place spot overall, but Head Coach Charlie Sheretz said he won’t be totally satisfied with that result.

“We’ve blown some opportunities,” Sheretz said. “I really thought coming in that we had a shot. I think that we just need to get as far as we can with the kids we’ve got left and see if we can hang on for second. I think we’re pretty much out of it to win first.”

Brookfield sits comfortably on top of the class-one leader board with 154 points.

“Brookfield’s just wrestled an excellent tournament so far,” Sheretz said. “I am impressed. I underestimated them, and we just didn’t make our own breaks. It ain’t over, we got a lot of wrestling left, but in the team race they’re pulling away.”
