Chesterfield 7PM Faust Park Tuesday: It's Free Concert No. 2

You've heard of Woodstock? I'm now calling Chesterfield's free summer concerts on Tuesday, Faustock!

Chesterfield's annual are so overwhelmingly well-attended that I'm good-naturedly calling them Faustock. (Faust County Park + Woodstock.) 

For those not familiar with Woodstock, the 1969 music festival was a huge rock concert with a half-million people attending over three days, in a farmers field in upstate New York.

The organizes the local concert series, and the city and businesses are sponsors. 

Last Tuesday's first concert of the season in , with the Bob Kuban Band, was considered the largest gathering ever for the annual series, with an estimated 2,500 concert-goers. Fireworks (and 1,800 pieces of free Chesterfield birthday cake) ended the night with a bang.

With the Faust Park concert venue opening Tuesday by 5:15pm, on Olive Boulevard next door to , in the same park where the and  reside, food concessions open at 5:30pm, music starts at 7pm, ends at 9pm.

Performing this week is Heather Dawn Band, a new sound for the annual series.

Here's how the Chamber of Commerce described Heather Dawn Band's sound:

"Inspired by Pat Benetar, Bonnie Raitt, Carole King , Sheryl Crow and Etta James, the Heather Dawn Band will belt out tunes from the swingin' 40s, to the hits of today."

BEST TIP: Parking option

There are two entrances to the concert venue. I discovered the one last week that is east on Olive Blvd. of the main entrance to Faust Park. It's a little-used narrow road between shrubbery and usually has a chain accross it. Going in there, you can park on the grass at the back of the concert hill. Much closer to epicenter.

Otherwise, unless you arrive very early, the main entrance to the park and its lots are typically so full that you have to walk a much longer way to the concert. This longer walk is on a paved area though, if you need that.

The weather forecast for Tuesday looks good, despite Monday's rainy nature.
