Lovin' the baseball, the roads—not so much.

Having just moved here from the East, one thing that I have definitely found to be a pain is the roads. The highways are easy enough to follow as long as you have a general idea where you want to go, but the neighborhoods and the roads leading through them to me are a good way to get lost. I went running the other day for 40 minutes. I was trying to pay attention to which roads I was on so that going back would not be an issue. 50 minutes later I had to ask a mailman how to get back to my street. Thankfully I was only about 3/4 of a mile away and was able to get back fairly quickly. It seems to me that many of the Chesterfield neighborhoods/developments have a lot of very similarly named roads. Perhaps with time I will come to learn the Chesterfield area a little bit better, however I will say it seemed to me that I saw a lot of people circling the neighborhoods just as lost as I was. So, from now on if you see a 20-something running through your development trying to read a map while running, chances are it's probably me.

On another note, I went to my first Cardinals game in the new stadium. I'm a diehard Phillies fan since I'm from that area, but I really do hope the people of Chesterfield appreciate what they have with the Cardinals. Sure the team may only make the playoffs this year with a stroke of magic, but the team that you get to call your home team is truly an amazing one. You have a group of guys that play baseball the right way. Not every city has a chance at every home game to go see one of the future greats play first base. Not to mention the new stadium is simply gorgeous with breathtaking site lines. People of Chesterfield, even if you don't like baseball, or think that it is a sport played by a bunch of over-payed jocks, do yourself a favor and go see this team and stadium. You have a great fan base and its worth the drive just to be able to say: "I saw the Cardinals play in the new Busch Stadium." I promise you won't regret it.
