One strong focal point of the parade is about honoring those who protect the rest of us: firefighters, police, military soldiers, National Guard.

Another fun part of the parade is devoted to the descendants of certain Irish clans.

Quite a few dog-loving groups got in on the parade action this year. Several bands performed. Many historic cars and tractors were driven.

Some floats and parade participants resulted from cultural and ethnic groups banding together. Plenty of charitable and community service organizations were emphasized.

And everyone was looking to grab a little luck o' the Irish Saturday.
