Trooper to be Inducted Into "Doggie Hall of Fame" in Chesterfield

A photo of the dog, who was rehabilitated by the Missouri Humane Society after surviving behind dragged behind a truck for a mile, will be on display at Taubman Prestige Outlets when it opens later this summer.

Trooper, the dog who survived being dragged behind a truck for a mile and was rescued by the Missouri Humane Society, will soon have a permanent home in Chesterfield. However, it’s not because he is being adopted by a family in the area, instead the tough pup’s photo will hang in the Doggie Hall of Fame in the main entry walkway of the future Taubman Prestige Outlets. Taubman participated in the Humane Society’s annual Bark in the Park event last weekend, where the company hosted a booth to take portrait shots of dog owners and their pets. The photo session cost $75, with part of the proceeds donated to the Humane Society. MoDOT Plan Calls for Traffic-Relieving Improvements for Route 141

Three separate projects are listed as part of the department's Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for 2014-2018.

Frustrated by traffic jams during rush hour as you try to travel past Highway 40/I-6 on Route 141? The Missouri Department of Transportation is hoping to add improvements over the next several years that might alleviate some of the issues. The projects are part of the department’s $700 million Statewide Transportation Improvement Pogram (STIP) for 2014-2018, a draft of which is available online. West Newsmagazine recently reported on the details of the program, which involve three initiatives relative to Route 141. They include building a flyover ramp from southbound Route 141 to eastbound I-44, adding a dual left turn lanes in the eastbound and westbound directions at the I-64 intersection, and putting in auxiliary lanes and turn lanes …

The Rockwood School District put together the above video highlighting the surprises and smiles from this year’s recipients of the annual Rockwood Outstanding Service in Education (ROSE) awards. For 2013, 15 individuals were honored with a ROSE Award in recognition of their excellence of character, performance, leadership and service to Rockwood. The ROSE Award is one of Rockwood’s highest honors, because it is presented to those who have made a difference in a child's life, in a Rockwood school, or in the Rockwood community. Each year, hundres of individuals are nominated, including teachers, parent volunteers, district employees, administrators and community supporters. Tea Party Activists Hold Protest Rally at West County IRS Office

Activists meet around noon today at the office in Town and Country, located off Route 141 near Chesterfield.

Tea Party activists descended on an IRS office in west St. Louis County today to protest the scandal that has engulfed the agency. The protest came as hearings were held in Washington D.C. about the scandal in which the IRS targeted the tax exemption applications of Tea Party-affiliated groups for extra scrutiny. According to a report from Patch partner Fox 2, the group staged their demonstration at noon at an IRS office on Town and Country Commons Drive, near the Charter Communications building. The area is located off Highway 141 just east of Chesterfield. Several Tea Party groups in St. Louis have been posting about the event online and on Twitter, including pictures of today’s event.
