Update: Traffic Moving Again on Westbound Highway 40

An accident that occurred earlier this morning has been cleared enough to allow traffic through, though authorities warn it will still be slow going.

Update 12:39 p.m.: The Chesterfield Police Department is reporting that the westbound lanes of Highway 40 at the Boone Bridge are open once again after an accident involving two semis shut them down earlier.  Original story: The westbound lanes of Highway 40/I-64 near the Boone Bridge are currently blocked due to a traffic accident involving several vehicles.  Chesterfield Police Capt. Steve Lewis said traffic has begun to back up considerably and advised drivers via Twitter to look for altenate routes. Father Helps Rescue Victims From Fiery Car Wreck

Joe Caruso, who considers himself "just another dad" sprung into action when he and his daughter found themselves in the middle of a disastrous situation on the outskirts of Manchester.

A Des Peres father played the role of action hero Tuesday when he helped victims of a fiery West County car crash at the intersection of Dougherty Ferry and Carman roads. Joe Caruso doesn't claim to have super powers, however, calling himself "just another dad." The people he saved may have a different opinion. As previously reported by Town and County - Manchester Patch, Manchester Police Officer Gerad Gonzalez and Caruso risked their lives to save a man from a burning SUV after a car crash. One Injured After Striking Clayton Road Utility Pole Head-On

An accident on Clayton Road left one person injured and shut off power to area residents for nearly 12 hours.

Power is restored to West County residents Friday after a crash on Clayton Road Thursday night near the border of Town and Country and Chesterfield. Town and Country police responded to the accident just west of Woods Mill Road around 7:30 p.m, but tell Patch the location of the crash, between Woods Mill Road and Village Green Parkway, is actually Chesterfield. West County EMS and Fire Protection District emergency crews also responded. According to West County Deputy Chief Jeff Sadtler, one car was involved in the accident in front of Target and hit a nearby utility pole head-on into. GUILTY: Chesterfield Man Faces 7-Year Sentence In DWI Manslaughter of Janet Esrock

August 17 sentencing. Also guilty to assault in connection with injuring passenger.

Prosecutors say a Chesterfield man could face seven years in prison for causing the death of Chesterfield teacher Janet Esrock, when he drove drunk into her car on Wildhorse Creek Road. Patrick J. McCormick, 53, pleaded guilty Friday morning to first-degree involuntary manslaughter involving a DWI and second-degree assault, in St. Louis County Circuit Court. McCormick told the court he was being treated for depression, and no longer worked. He was a facilities director at Saint Louis University Medical Center.  McCormick was legally drunk when he drove his car head-on into another on Wildhorse Creek Road August 26, fatally injuring 50-year-old Janet Esrock, a Whitfield School teacher, and seriously injuring her teenage son, Jon Esrock. …
